Revisiting Chaozhou Street with the question "What's inside?" sparked a sensory connection, unfolding curiosity and surprise. The street, like an Italian focaccia, blends diverse elements into a harmonious whole, much like a shifting kaleidoscope of rare treasures. This dynamic transformation is driven by vibrant color blocks, creating organic forms that invite imagination.
Chaozhou Street’s vitality comes from daily life’s visible components—buildings, tiles, arcades, plants, and people. These elements evoke the four classical elements: wind, fire, water, and earth, embodying the spirit of the street. Through this exploration, I hope viewers discover the hidden vibrancy of everyday life.
2023 潮州街龍 x 潮州街串聯活動
從「What's inside！」的心境出發，再次拜訪到潮州街，正是這樣的問句的設立，積極地觸發著我的感官與街區之間的連結，奇趣與驚喜在一路上衍然而生。用來形容潮州街的日常生活感，就像是一塊義式佛卡夏，輕盈鬆軟的麵包質地來自長時間的發酵，恰到好處的安排之餘，默默的將包羅萬象的元素融洽醞釀，也像是翻轉中不斷改變畫面的萬花筒，總是能捕捉到一些珍奇寶藏。
而在這微小視窗中產生巨大變化的幕後功臣，即是當中貫徹執行著各式排列組合的鮮豔色塊，這正是我想延伸的概念，將潮州街的不同風味包覆，並濃縮於各式的有機形狀中，而因為沒有最具體的答案，所以保留一個更大的空間，讓到來的觀者能夠自在發揮想像。
潮州街的生氣盎然是在幾次散步中，總和體驗下來的詮釋，而其實都來自於日常能見度的每個成分所共同建構的，從建築物與磁磚、騎樓的安排、植物環繞、到生活在這裡的人們，在這裡做著的事情，這讓我聯想到萬物的基本組成元素風、火、水、土，而在視覺中誕生出四元素精靈的角色，相應著潮州街巷個靜謐而跳動的生命現象。
期待觀者在探索的過程中，也對平日所見的另一端視野逐漸明朗，發現正在發光的不可見之物。
